         Ann Augustine again    
Ann Augustine, after a short hiatus, is back again. She will be next seen in Lal Jose’ Nee-Na. She will play Vijay Babu’s wife in the film. The film tells the story of two women Neena and Nalini.

         Aparna Nair plays fisherwoman    
Aparna Nair is noticed for the variety of roles played so far. This time she will play a fisherwoman in debutant Prakasha Vadikkal’s film named Thamara. Aparna plays the title character of Thamara belonging to the traditional fisher folk living on the Kerala-Karnataka border.

         Meera Nanden to replace Bhaama    
Meera Nanden will replace Bhaama in debutant Lenin’s Kranti. Sunny Wayne plays the lead role in the film. Lenin said Bhaama withdrew from the film due to date problems.

         'The Lunchbox' named best first film by Toronto Film Critics    
TORONTO: Ritesh Batra's much lauded epistolary romance drama 'The Lunchbox' has been named best first feature by Toronto Film Critics. The film, which won the Critics Week Viewers Choice Award at Cannes Film Festival in 2013, tells the nostalgic love story between a lonely housewife and an about to retire widower, who get connected through a wrongly delivered lunchbox.

         Fahadh, Nithya again    
Fahadh Faasil will play the lead role in Deepu Karunakaran’s next after Fireman. Asif Ali too has an equally important role in the film. The film produced by Howli Pottoor under the banner of Noble Andrae will have Nitya Menen as the heroine. The shooting of the film will begin in March.

         Ansiba’s Viswasam Athalle Ellam    
Young actress Ansiba Hassan will star along with Akansha Puri in Jayaraj’s new film ‘Viswasam Athalle Ellam’. The star of Ithihasa, Shine Tom Chacko, is the hero. Shine will take up the role of a police superintendent’s son.

         Abhirami with Jyothika in Tamil    
Abhirami, who returned through Madhav Ramdas’ Apothecary in Malayalam, is all set for a second innings in Tamil. She will be next seen in the Tamil remake of Roshan Andrews’ How Old Are you. She will play the character played by Kaniha in the Malayalam film.

         Poojitha as IT professional    
Poojitha Menon, who started her filmi career through ‘Nee Ko Njan Cha’, is going to don an IT professional’s role in two new upcoming films. One of them is ‘St Marysile kolapathakam’, which will be directed by S N Shijo. Shijo was an associate of famous director Madhu Kaithapram and this is his first venture. The other film is Mohan Roop’s ‘The other side’.

         Meghna Raj in remake of Avalude Ravukal    
Avalude Ravukal is reappearing again. Meghan Raj will play the lead role earlier done by Seema in the original. Suresh Kannan will remake the film of I V Sasi.

         Mahira Khan to romance SRK in Raees    
Pakistani actress Mahira Khan is all to make her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in upcoming film Raees. The movie is directed by 'Parzania' helmer Rahul Dholakia, and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under Excel Entertainment.

         How he became a dancer    
Six years passed by since his debut but he has acted in only a couple of films. Almost all the characters he did had negative shades, which according to him, didn't gel with his real-life character. But now he is a new person and he has taken the role of a dancer-cum-entertainer in the popular TV show - D 4 Dance.

         Samantha, Siddharth together again    
Samantha and her boyfriend Siddharth will be paired together in the Telugu remake of the hit Malayalam film Bangalore Days. It is heard that the two have given a verbal consent to director Bommarillu Bhaskar, who has not yet named the film. The two had earlier acted together in Jabbardasth.

         Vineeth Srinivasan as a criminal    
Young actor Vineeth Srinivasan, after his ‘Ormayundo Eeemukham, will reappear on the big screen with a criminal’s face. The film titled Oru Second Class Yatra is being directed by new comers Rejish and Jackson Anthony. Nikki Gilrani, who came to be noticed for her performance in 1983, is the heroine. But interestingly, the heroine will be the criminal character’s sister.

         Lissy returning to films    
Yesteryear actress Lissy, who decided to part ways with her director husband Priyadarshan after 24 years of marriage, is returning to films. Her second innings will be through a film by Ram, who directed Thanka Meengal which bagged various awards including three national awards.

         Asin: I am not doing any South projects    
The actress, whose last Bollywood release was Khiladi 786, clarified that she had no plans to return to South after the news was posted on a fake handle in Asin's name on Twitter.

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth Friday turned 64 and made the occasion a memorable one by dishing out his latest flick "Lingaa" to frenzied fans who turned up to witness their matinee idol deliver famous punchlines after about four years.

Vedhika who debuted in Shringaravelan with Dilip soon won the hearts of the Keralite audience. She has completed Cousins with Kunchacko Boban in Malayalam. Her Tamil film Kaaviya Thalaivan with Siddharth is also running in packed houses.

         Kaniha with Suresh Gopi again    
After five years, Suresh Gopi and Kaniha are uniting for ‘Rudrasimhasanam’ to be directed by Shibu Gangadharan. Earlier they had paired up for Joshi film Christian Brothers. Sunil Parameswaran is writing the script for the current project.

         Govind Padmasoorya in a multilingual film    
Director Vinil Vasu, who made his debut in Malayalam films with The Last Supper, is gearing up for his next, a multilingual film with Govind Padmasoorya in the lead role. The film has been named Hello Ajnabee and it will be shot in Mumbai.

         Sreedevi as Vijay’s mother    
Post ‘Kathi’, the film that will star Vijay has been named Garuda. Chimbudev is directing this new film. Hansika and Shruthi Haasan are the heroines. Yesteryear beauty Sreedevi is doing a significant role in the film.

         Priyadarshan discovered the actor in me: Jayasurya    
Jayasurya, who has shined in a number films, is currently acting in Priyadarshan’s ‘Amayum Muyalum’. As he is working with one of the ace directors of South India, he wanders a bit into his past life as a mimicry artiste and explains he was first noticed by the director.

In a bid to create pre-release buzz in Australia for the much-awaited movie, the 49-year-old actor revealed few details about the film to media here through video conferencing organised by the local film distributor company Mind Blowing Films.

For Roshen Andrews, this is his second experience with Prithviraj. Earlier, both had worked together in Mumbai Police, the film that had grabbed much public attention.

         Court dismisses plagiarism case against 'Lingaa'    
MADURAI: The Madras High Court bench here Wednesday dismissed the writ petition filed by aspiring filmmaker K.R. Ravi Rathinam, who had claimed that the makers of superstar Rajinikanth-starrer "Lingaa" have stolen his story.
