Ace director Priyadarshan says he wishes Mohanlal starrer Oppam had a Hindi version. The film which is getting ready for release portrays Mohanlal as a blind person who happens to be the witness in murder case. “I am waiting to see the film hitting the screen. I am also eager to hear the audience’ response. I am planning to make the film in Hindi. Actors will be from Bollywood. Tamil and Telugu remakes of the film are also under consideration,” says Priyan. Oppam is the story of Jaya

Mammootty is the hero in the Shafi-Rafi team’s new film, after their Two Countries. S Talkies owned by director Siddique is producing the film. The film that will go on the floors in January 2017 will reach theatres during next Vishu. This is Mammootty’s fifth film with Shafi. Their Thommanum Makkalum and Mayavi were super hits. If the script is good, mega star Mammootty would not wait to take up that project. It was newcomer Haneef Adani who had approached the actor with such a script. “In the beginning we had plans to begin the shoot in September. But Mammootty who liked the script asked me to prepone the shoot. Hence, it was decided to begin the shooting in July itself. Preparations for it have also started,” Haneef said.

MUMBAI: Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, one of the producers of "Udta Punjab", has criticised the government, saying it was wrong to politically colour his fight with Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) over censorship issue. "FYI I have fought the UPA more on censorship issues than the NDA. But you know what, there was no Nihalani then," the director-producer tweeted.
