THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have taken a case against Mahila Morcha activists who ‘purified’ the protest stall in which Congress leader and Lok Sabha member Kodikunnil Suresh MP took part. The case is according to Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.

The Mahila Morcha activists sprinkled cow dung water in the protest stand where the MP staged a hunger strike on Tuesday and Wednesday against the malpractices in the railways in Kottarakkara. The Mahila Morcha activists, who reached there under the leadership of BJP district general secretary G Gopakumar and others, alleged that the protest by the MP was fake and sprinkled cow dung water.

Nevertheless, the Congress leadership reacted to the incident by alleging that the act by the Mahila Morcha was because the MP was a dalit, following which the Kottarakkara police took a case against the Mahila Morcha activists based on their complaint.
