KOCHI: The CBI court here has given a strict warning to Karayi Rajan, who is an accused in the murder of NDF activist Fasal, for attending the State Film Awards function held in Thalassery, thereby breaching his bail conditions.

He was also denied permission to work for Chintha Publications by the CBI court, and has been asked not to step out of Ernakulam district.

The court had earlier given permission to Rajan, who is a member of the Kannur district panchayat, to take part in the district panchayat meeting. Nevertheless, Rajan who reached Kannur the day before the meeting, also took part in the State Film Awards event which was attended by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. This lead to the CBI approaching the court to cancel his bail, citing that he had breached bail conditions.

Earlier, the court had granted Rajan bail in the Fasal murder case, with a condition that he should not leave Ernakulam district. The court had also given him permission to go to Thiruvananthapuram, as he got a job in a press controlled by his party.
