THRISSUR: The police are investigating a complaint against a criminal lawyer who allegedly hired goondas to attack an engineer in the city.

The police have arrested two history-sheeters Sabu Wilson and Ajeesh in connection with the attack. Gireesh Kumar, an engineer residing at Koorkkanchery, fractured his hand in the attack.

The goondas reportedly told the police that they had attacked the engineer at the behest of the lawyer.

The police are collecting sufficient evidence, including telephone conversation between the lawyer and the goondas, before taking him into custody.

The incident took place two days ago. Girish Kumar had an altercation with the lawyer in front of a shopping mall in the city over parking of a car. The lawyer had allegedly parked his car blocking the entrance to the mall which was questioned by  Girish Kumar. The two goondas followed Girish Kumar to his flat after the incident and attacked him with iron rods.
