The Polish driver of one of the trucks involved in an accident that killed eight people was on twice the drinks limit.  Malayalees Ciriac Joseph and Rishi Kumar and six others from India died at the scene of the accident on M1 in Newport as their van was hit by two trucks.

Ryszard Masierak 31 allegedly stopped his truck in the slow lane of M1and stayed stationary for 12 minutes. Nobody is allowed to stop their vehicle on motorway unless it is in traffic.

The driver of the minibus- Cyriac Joseph, moved from the slow lane to the next lane and collided with another truck. The minibus got crushed by two trucks and 8 people died and 4 others seriously injured.
