ALAPPUZHA: A woman staying in a rented house in Harippad was found dead with her throat slit open on Friday. The victim has been identified as Mavelikkara Kattanam native Pushpakumari (35). Police have taken into custody a Harippad native in this connection. For the past some time, both were living together, despite having spouse and family.

The incident came to light after a Pallipadu native, who was called by the accused to bury the victim’s body, went to the Harippad police station and spilled the beans. After this, the police reached the crime and started the investigation.
