TORONTO: Advaita philosopher Sree Narayana Guru’s (1855-1928) most popular literary work ‘Daiva Dasakam’ will be presented in an audio-visual talk titled ‘100 Years of Daiva Dasakam (Ten Verses of Meditation in the Absolute)’. Sree Narayana Association (‘SNA’) of Toronto, as part of its learning objective, is hosting this talk on Sunday, 1 November 2015 between 10.00 am to 12.30 pm at the Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, 2930 South Sheridan Way, Oakville, Ontario, Canada.
This audio-visual learning module is a simplified philosophical analysis of Sree Narayana Guru's literary work ‘Daiva Daskam’, which was originally written for children, around the year 1914. Although this poem has a simplistic side to its popular appeal, it also incorporates deep Advaitic concepts and mastery of verses, demonstrating the literary genius of the Guru. The learning module ‘100 Years of Daiva Dasakam’ was developed by Narayana Philosophy Society (‘NPHIL’) in partnership with Narayana Gurukula Foundation of Varkala, India.
Entrance to the event is free. SNA is inviting attendees (adults and children of 14 years and above), sponsors and donors to this event. Those wishing to attend or sponsor the event may contact Shamita Bharathan in Canada on +1 647 983 2458. Advance registration is necessary, as seats at the venue are limited.
