Students can apply online for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA), conducted by the Council of Architecture. NATA is a qualifying test for admission to five-year Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) courses in the country.

The test measures drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity, and critical thinking ability of the aspirants.

The NATA will be conducted from April 1, 2015 to May 25, 2015 and from June 1, 2015 to August 21, 2015 at designated centres across the country. Those who desire to take the test should register well in advance. Details of the registration process are available in the NATA information brochure which can be downloaded from the website www.nata.in. Appointments for participating in the NATA are given on the first-come, first-served basis. The list of test centres is available on the website.

The NATA 2015 registration form can be filled and submitted on www.nata.in by paying a fee of Rs 1,250 either through credit/debit card/net banking or through the computer-generated challan in any branch of the ICICI bank in the country.

In the aesthetic sensitivity test, the candidate has to answer 40 multiple-choice questions. The test measures perception, imagination and observation, creativity, and communication, along with architectural awareness and comprises of

  • Visualising three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional drawing
