THALIPARAMBA: The Keezhattoor bypass protest has resumed after a short interval. The ‘Vayalkili’ activists who head the protest threatened to commit suicide and resumed the protest after CPM district secretary P Jayarajan took a jibe at the protest saying that it is like a deflated balloon.

Officials had reached the spot on Wednesday morning with the support of the police to construct the road. This was followed by the protesters getting into the field with strong resistance. They have raised the slogans saying that its farmer’s field and those who have arrived to build a road here must back off. The protesters also include women and children.

The Vayalkili has decided to oppose the survey proceedings at all cost. The Keezhattoor protest is taking a new turn with the CPM locking horns with the Vayalkili activists.

The protest is against land-filling about 250 acres of paddy field in the CPM village Keezhattoor to construct a national highway bypass here.
